Why 30 seconds is enough
Choosing a flight often takes longer than flying it. Between charts, schedules and forums, a session starts with twenty minutes of browsing. RFD flips the order: a route first, details later.
The generator works from over one million real routes. Nothing to install, and no account is required for the main mode.
Step 1: pick a mode
The home page offers four modes: real flights, LIVE, AI and fictional. For a credible flight, keep “Real flights”. Use LIVE when you want to follow an active flight or an imminent departure.
Step 2: search with no filter, or just one
The “Find a flight” button works with no criteria at all: RFD picks a random route. If you have a constraint, add it alone, for example a two-hour duration or a specific aircraft.
One criterion works better than a strict combination: too many filters shrink the available routes and slow the search down.
Step 3: prepare and export
Select the row in the table. METAR/TAF weather, charts and briefing are available from the flight workspace. The SimBrief button builds the matching flight plan in one click.
If you do not like the route, “Regenerate” runs another selection with the same criteria.
Mistakes that waste time
Stacking five filters from the start, looking for an exact registration without an up-to-date database, or ignoring LIVE mode when you want to fly right now: these are the three most common reasons a session never takes off.
Key takeaways
Search first, refine later. One criterion is enough. Weather and SimBrief are one click away in the workspace.
